It was fun, but we really wanted to fish and it was not happening. Beautiful to be in and around it.

Town Lake, now known as Lady Bird Lake, has a beautiful path to hike or bike on. You can take your dog-on-leash with you. You can rent bikes and kayaks along your hike, or just enjoying footing it.

Beautiful homes sit beside the water, a soft cool breeze comes off the lake, and there are all sorts of boats everywhere. It looks like a great place to have a good time!

Bat tour was fun! The water in the lake under Congress street bridge, not so much. Water quality aside, the parks and paths along the lake are inviting. I recommend getting a kayak or canoe and paddling the lake.

Most people who see Town Lake for the first time , say "Lake?) It looks like a river. Lots of very expensive homes and a great view from Mt. Bonnel. Take a boat cruise to see the homes.

The trail could not be better. I love the granite trail, the restrooms and water fountains along the way and the people viewing. It is great, you must go.

There are so many things to do in a 100-degree afternoon under the sun. The part of Columbia river is both well maintained and safe with the river cruisers.

I like the town lake best for its running trails, there are various distances and most of the tracks are under trees which is extremly valuable during the day and summertime. There are also other activites like rowing, boat tours etc. and of course the...More

I would definitely NOT swim in Town Lake. Research water quality for that particular lake. Paddling was okay, incidental contact with the water was ok. ( I suck at kayaking and wore a bunch of the lake home) But I went... More

Parking - Lots of it! Just depends on where you are staying or arriving along the 10 mile hike & bike trail around the lake. If east of IH-35, we suggest you Google the Austin Hostel and park near the lake on the south side... More
