Although it took a half hour to find it, there's a lovely path that follows Barton Springs Creek and bends around to the river. Seems like there's a train that follows the path, so use that as a guide. Rest of the park seemed kind of barren.

A Saturday afternoon spent walking in the park, along the river, over the bridge and back. The park is very popular with the dog crowd, the frisbee set and the sun seekers. Parking it reasonable. Carry water with you in the summer time as it can get quite warm.

Nice place to picnic and walk. Fresh clean looking water. Swimmers swimming though 65 degrees outside. Pecan trees abound and have pecans ready for pickup.

This fine park has unexpected pleasures--chiefmost among them the splendid, spring-fed pool. I loved it! We visited on the day after Thanksgiving so the botanical gardens were closed. Too bad. Ample parking.

I went walking around during a day trip in Austin and stopped at Zilker park. Initially, I was afraid that there would be a crowd but there wasn't at all. I saw a class of elementary school kids, some swimmers, and a group of middle school kids. There is a sidewalk along the pool and just above it is a... More

Beautiful Park. Very large. A really large natural swimming pool spring feed. We rode the old school park train. Very nice and scenic. Only $3.00 for adults. Saw lots of people hiking the trails and walking their dogs.

This is a great park within the city - lots of good hiking, a big playground, and lots more to do. Definitely worth a visit!

Today for the second day in a row, Zilker Park was our favored destination. Yesterday, to ride the train and today to paddle canoes. Both greatly enjoyed by our twin three-year-old grandchildren. Clearly, we haven't yet plumbed the breadth and depth of all this green oasis has to offer, but already I am rating it a 5.
