My wife and I came here as a part of our Master Naturalist training. It is truly a hidden treasure. It is a privately held preserve on 73 acres of land. You can only see the Grotto through a scheduled guided tour. About a mile hike there and back. Hike does have a 100 plus steps down and of course... More

This place is a jewel! You can feel the love owners have put in this place for generations. Get there early , sign your name in the list and while the tour starts take a walk in the Uplands trail. You will see lots of birds and natural habitat at its best. The tour guide is very knowledgable And will... More

I somehow had never heard of this place, even though we've lived here now for twenty years and we try to seek out all the good hiking spots with caves or water holes. This is truly one of the most beautiful places in Texas. Only a thirty or so minute drive from downtown, and a mile past Hamilton Pool. You... More

We had the pleasure of visiting when the water levels were very high and the experience was wonderful. The plains garden and the wild flowers were beautiful.

Definitely a recommendation for travelers. 1 mile past Hamilton pool. The waterfall and cave are very peaceful. Bring hiking shoes and expect about 1.5 hrs on the tour. Tours are 10/12/2/4 on the weekends. Beautiful, peaceful, quaint and a gem in Central Texas.

It's a great place to go to when you find out you're not going to make it inside Hamilton pool. Perfect for families and nature enthusiasts, but only if you take advantage of the tour.

I went here with a church youth group for a stop. We all really enjoyed it. The hike is about 1 1/2 miles round trip. You need to be able to walk on rough terrain and also be able to do stairs. The guide we had was Erich Rose and he was excellent telling us all about the preserve, how... More

Part of Hamilton Pool park this is a series of caverns and collapsed caverns (just down the road at Hamilton Pool). Can be both relaxing and invigorating at the same time. We loved this area in College long ago, kids love it. It's still nice outing after many trips.

This is definitely worth the 50 minute drive out of Austin. Its a nice 90 minute tour with a fairly easy hike to a grotto with a cave and a waterfall. The guide is extremely knowledgeable. They let you hike back at your own pace so you can enjoy the serenity of the preserve without the group.
