The statue is located in a nice Riverfront Park. There are lots of hiking and biking trails and a dog park. Parking can be difficult to find though

Didn't expect to see the statue tucked in a walking park, we were not looking for it, and it took us by surprise. But there it is! Would have liked a bit more detail on the bio, but Stevie Ray was immediately recognizable. Grateful for the memorial of his legendary music - the river & skyline view behind the statue... More

Austin's changed and burst and overflowed all around Stevie Ray Vaughan's statue for quite a few years now, but if anything, the statue's grown stature as Austin has searched for direction. It's fitting there's lots of both vegetation and scenic skyline around and behind him because that's what Austin has always struggled with, keeping its roots while rising into the... More

I had not expected this statue to be as moving as it was. But, it brought back memories from over 36 years ago, when I was a bothersome drunk who met him in a DC bar after a gig. He was actually a nice guy when he could have just blown me off without a second thought. And he carried... More

This statue is a pretty good likeness of one of the most well-know Texas Blues rockers. However, the execution does limited justice to the spirit and life of the subject. Rather vague and smoothed-over, its a little disappointing that the details are lacking. Compared with the bust of Willie Nelson, created about 20 years later, the statue lacks true appeal... More

The statue is very well done, and is in a beautiful setting along Auditorium Shores on the South side of Lady Bird Lake. This is very fitting, since Stevie Ray Vaughn is from the south side of Dallas (Oak Cliff). Take a few minutes to seek out the statue if you are a fan, or just stop by if you... More

Easy to walk to from the downtown area. Pretty cool with "shadow" included in the sculpture. The Guitar Hurricane.

The statue is along a nice walk along the river. My husband is a huge Stevie fan and really enjoyed seeing the statue. Not much else there.

This statue is cool to see. The "shadow" is great. I am not surprised that it is a popular spot for tourists.
