Several people told us that Mount Bonnell was a must see hike in Austin. It's only a fifteen minute drive from downtown, but it's hardly a hike (just 106 stairs to the top). You can be in/view/out easily in 10 minutes. It was a beautiful...More

Locals recommended this 'hike' to us but we were unimpressed. The views ok, the hike is 106 steps up a modern staircase, and there's nothing spectacular at the top. I realize we should have set our expectations lower since Austin is a fairly flat city,...More

Be ready to go up SEVERAL stairs. The view is worth the exercise. There are several areas to sit/rest on the top and of course you can take advantage of scenery to take pictures. A must!!!

This place has a calming effect. A relatively quite place that is not very crowded and also offering a scenic view of Austin. Do visit if you have the time.

Short hike or set of steps to get to some awesome views. Great overlook of CO river and some impressive houses. The hike is rocky so have steady footing but worth the trip.

Yes, you should have it on a leash and be prepared to clean up behind your dog if that's what kind of pet you have. Enjoy :)

Yes. They have picnic tables & trash cans there in assorted areas but be prepared for a few people passing by & possibly asking for a bite of food!
