We spent about 45 minutes here. A pleasant drive from central Austin through some upmarket housing areas to park easily on the road. 110 steps to the top with pleasing views both ways along the river when you get there. If you are short of time take the right hand path from the top and walk along the cliff top... More

Nice view and a nice hike. Well worth the short trip to get there. If you are in a wheelchair or have health issues this is not accessible. There are some serious stairs to climb to make it to the top.

Mount Bonnell is far from being a mountain and it can be conquered in less than 110 steps from the parking lot. The best views are obtained by heading to the right once you get to the top (looking up the Colorado River and many of the enormous homes which dot its banks) and to the left where you'll get... If you like the outdoors but want to do something that's a short distance, try this wonderful little hike. You can take the stairs up and then trek down or the other way around...trek up and take the stairs down...whichever suits your fancy. It's pretty good for traveling with young ones and elders alike...but unfortunately, it doesn't have handicap access.... More

After 2 years of living in Austin, I finally made it to Mount Bonnell. What beautiful views and easy to access. A nice nature spot in Austin.

This park had great views. However, it was a relatively small area. Really wouldn't need more than 30 minutes to see the park. Had a bit of graffiti that needs to be removed. Overall just ok.

Offers mesmerizing view of the lake Austin from the top! You also get to see the huge estates that have their own private access to the lake and their yachts parked in their private bays

Very pretty scenery. Went at dusk and watched the sunset on Austin City. Easy to walk up either by 100 steps in middle or to the right a graduated climb. Lots of people come, so very safe. Pretty neighborhood. Highly recommended.

Let me first acknowledge that it has a nice view of the lake and Pennybacker Bridge. Beyond that, I really don't understand the throngs of people who jam the road in/out with traffic or risk their lives for an "OK" scenic view. The views are better and safer along Capital of Texas Highway at Pennybacker itself. Safety issues in the... More
