Another visit to this centre for a exciting and well presented exhibition. Having visited Austin over a number of years and have always been impressed by the exhibitions put on by them. The current vaudeville exhibits are compelling being from the other side of the...More

Austin and the University of Texas are blessed to have this astonishing archive at their disposal and it's brilliant that they make the effort to reveal some of it to the public with, I understand, regularly changing exhibitions. The display area is not huge but...More

I went for a photography exhibit and wasn't disappointed. They always have interesting exhibits up. If there isn't something to your interest, just wait a little bit and something will turn up. The staff is very helpful and they've got a lot of info about...More

We were really looking forward to this museum. Rated 3 stars by Frommer, had lists of all the papers held in this museum but very little was on display. They do have a Gutenberg bible and the first photograph ever taken but you can barely...More

The Ransom Center always offers a great distraction on days when the weather is not cooperating my children's weekly adventures. There are only a handful of items on permanent display, including a wonderful Frida Kahlo, the first photograph ever taken, and the Gutenberg Bible. In...More

This place is only a few blocks north of the capital building and was a nice pit stop for me. Lots of reading so not great for small children. Has a couple of permanent exhibits but then the main exhibit changes a couple times a...More

The Center is located on the campus, its main entrance facing a soothing green expanse. It is small, yet houses an extraordinary collection of: 1. photographs, 2. art, 3. books and periodicals, 4. posters, photographs and scripts for films, TV and radio 5. performing arts...More

This museum is actually a massive research library, which was very disappointing. We wasted an hour finding parking and getting to the museum only to find there was one or two tiny exhibits on one floor.
