Great Place for a Meeting

Nice, large convention center for hosting special events. Our family has attended business conventions and a wedding here. The staff are very accommodating.

The Abilene Cultural Affairs Council and the Abilene CVB sponsored a magnificent lighting of downtown sculpture gardens and trees. As the Storybook Capital of Texas, Abilene offers fun and safe adventures for families and friends. The film crew from Voices in America attended and began the preparations for a segment to be aired on PBS in the future.

The Visitors Bureau is filled with lots of brochures and maps of the area. The woman at the information desk was very knowledgeable and friendly. If you are in the area stop by.

My wife and I took a walking tour of Congress Avenue with Harrison David Eppright in November, 2015 and it was excellent. Harrison was knowlegeable and friendly and the "one hour tour" turned into two and a half hours of Austin History. It was well worth the cost and time and one of the highlights of our visit to Austin.... More

Located near my hotel so I decided to check it out. They have a good selection of Texas and Austin merchandise. I was able to find my husband a cool and reasonably priced T-shirt. I did not take the tour but there were several large groups waiting on the tour.

I recommend doing this free tour offered by the Visitor's Bureau. Our tour guide was excellent. She gave us a very informative talk/tour of Austin and its history. She went above and beyond with helping us. After tour was finished, she took us back to the Visitor's Bureau, gave us maps and more suggestions for a self-guided walking tour of... More

Visiting a friend in Austin for a long weekend. After exploring South Congress, we felt we needed an introduction to the state's capital. Signed up online for the city's free historical tour. The guide, Patsy Stephenson, was very informative. Her deep connection to Austin, growing up here, is evident in her tour. She gives history of the capital and the... More

We stopped by the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau and were looking for some type of tour of the city. The gentleman told about 3 of them and also the free walking tour. We decided that we would do the walking tour. It begins at the Steps of the Capital and winds it's way to the Bremond neighborhood. Our guide... More
