This is strolling/shopping street that has a nice variety of shops that tend toward the touristy. The boot shops are fun for a Midwesterner like me. The boots are works of art. There are restaurants that were popular and had lines for entrance on a Saturday afternoon. We went a bit further down and ate at magnolia cafe south for... More

It's an area of South Congress with shops & trendy restaurants. You can just walk up on side and down the other. There are also to great music venues: The Continental Club and C-Boys.

Like I said in my other review of this 'district' on South Congress, we were a bit disappointed. We found South First more interesting & it's parallel to South Congress.

We spent an hour strolling the area. There are lots of fun shops, restaurants and street performers. Very casual and friendly area with lots of kids, dogs and everybody else.

Strolled up and down South Congress on a lovely, sunny afternoon in Austin and couldn't have enjoyed it more! Interesting shops, great restaurants and bars. Ate on South Congress lots - Torchey's Tacos, Magnolia and South Congress Cafe. All were wonderful!

We enjoy our stroll up and down Congress stopping in at the many new and eclectic shops. When they say keep Austin weird, they are talking about this place. There are many good restaurants on this street for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Yes there are some nice restaurants and interesting shops, but its obvious that these businesses are dependent on tourists. So if you want where the local goes this wouldn't be it.

This is where you want to go to have a good time. Plenty of restuarants and shopping. Young crowd, but authentic.
