We had an excellent time on South Congress! There are a lot of great food places to eat in addition for shopping. The only bad thing about this was that there aren't any bathrooms around. Check out SoCo Cafe!

I think it is a happening place. There are great hotels, shops, artist stalls and markets on some Thursdays and Sundays, interesting stores, and boutiques. It is fun to stroll, look, and see funny things.

Super-fun area to explore - unique shops, good restaurants & bars and family-friendly (for teenagers at least).

Didn't think it was worth the visit. Not many shops and not as unique as stated in some general reviews.

This stretch of Congress Street over the bridge has a slightly Bohemian local feel about it with a number of interesting eateries (including food trucks and the famous Joe's Coffee) and shops. Lot of relaxed locals. If you're downtown it's an easy stroll across the...More

Try the Continental Cafe for music every night- stand up venue that's cash only. Good for people watching too

Great stuff going on all over the place. Street acts, vendors, etc. Lots of choices for food and lots of one-of-a-kind shops. Real Austin feel.

Staying at the nearby hotel we experienced the SoCo district. Very interesting! Lots of food trucks and restaurants to choose from. Also various shops some were rather unique. Parking is a little different with back in diagonal parking. South Congress Ave is an easy way...More

There’s a bit of goodness for everyone. Food trucks galore with lots of yummy food! Family friendly and dog friendly too. It can get crowed and quite busy. With a little patience it can be just what you needed to finish a day out in...More

Google UT buses to SoCo and you will see what is available. It will depend on if classes are in session. The buses will give you pick up spots and drop off places. The time to arrive can be anytime over 40 minutes to 50... More

Parking is very hard to find. You may have to park down the street and walk. If you are staying downtown, take a cab (I believe Uber is being discontinued in Austin). Getting there early in the day is better for parking... More
