Nice to enjoy various exhibits in one area. Musical, historical and some art. Mostly documents and some visual. Has Stevie Ray Vaughn exhibit, slave exhibits and aerospace and plane exhibits. Schools visit alot during the week. Three floors of exhibits and IMAX section is nice.

Overall a total history of Texas from Native Americans to yuppies. Start the day by parking in the underground parking garage or if during the weekend/federal holidays across in the surface lot for free. Depending on the weather take your family photo of the huge Star in front, and then head inside. Inside the lobby is a huge rotunda with... More

If you want to know more about Texas must visit this museum. We enjoyed all the history and movies they play. The building is beautiful starting with the big star. A must see in Austin.

Since this place has been remodeled I have seen two movies here. It is a visual and audio experience. 3-D and 4-D viewing. Every seat is a good seat. Also, they now have their own popcorn and sodas.

A must see. A museum any city would be proud to have. The architecture is wonderful. The largest free standing star and a mosaic on the ground floor of the history of Texas. NASA, American Indian and traveling exhibits are on separate floors. Historians give tours throughout the weekend. 'Highlighted' exhibits change throughout the year. Quirky trivia of Texas., "Stevie... More

Visited with a member of the museum. Paid parking underground. Admission fee and further fees for presentations in the I-Max Theatre and regular theatre which must be purchased in advance. The in-house cafe is under renovation but the boutique is open for business. Watch out for large school groups. The 3-D I-Max documentary sponsored by Subaru used the 3-D aspect... More
