Smallish, nice place for off-leash fun with your pups. No panoramic views. Few towering oaks. But, pleasant rolling terrain, easy parking, friendly people. It can get crowded.

Great little park with Prarie land with wild flowers galore and filled with small birds. Also path along the river although due to flooding people were using picnic tables while wading in shin high water. Saw a lot of dogs off leash so park may need some supervision in these two areas. Looked like fishermen were having pretty good luck.... More

This is a nice small park with short trails and access to Lake Austin. Park on the road outside the area fronting the river. Can get a bit crowded and loud on weekends. But otherwise a nice place to escape from the city.

I love this place - not crowded and so pretty and serene. Part of the park is run by the city and has hours set by the city, the other part, on the lake, is associated with the HOA there and I am not sure about its hours or public access.

This area is a great place to see the bird migration in spring and fall. The area has been restored to a natural prairie, and in the spring it has beautiful wildflowers blooming. The walking trails are well marked so you can go around the grounds. There is a pier near the lake so people can fish for White Bass.... More

Just opened to the public in 2015. Located on Lake Austin it is a perfect place for a short hike or nice birders park.

With the restored prairie, pecan groves, riparian zone, canyon and edges, Commons Ford has extremely varied habitats that attract a wide variety of birds. Add that to the ease of getting around and well placed restrooms and you have a location that is nearly perfect for birders. The only thing that would make it better would be if the city... More

This park is on lake Austin. Free parking. Vollyball net. Dog friendly, bring your cooler and enjoy. There are a few picnic tables, not many, bring your own chair to be safe or a blanket to sit on, some shade exists but not near the lake, as far as swimming , sign says no swimming but people do swim at... This park is in our neighborhood. Hence, we are here often. Great place to get out and stretch the legs. It is suppose to be on leash for pets but no one does it. You can get access to Lake Austin for your pets. No human swimming allowed. I like that there is a flat place to walk North of... More

This is a great park to hike, play and walk your dog. I recently visited for a photo session. There are some old vintage buildings and a barn. The fields are stunning in the fall along with the beautiful colors and big trees.
