Drive this scenic mountain which is also used as a outdoor classroom for the study of various species of plants and animals. At 5.2 miles, the Mount Equinox Skyline Drive is the longest privately owned paved toll road in the U.S. Those who prefer to hike can pick up a trail map at the Toll House. At the top of the mountain is our new Saint Bruno Scenic Viewing Center packed with info about Equinox Mountain and the Carthusian Monks. The private property which is 7,000 acres is owned by the Carthusain monks. A cloistered order of Catholic monks. There is the Catholic gift shop at the bottom of the mountain and also souvenirs from your trip.

I hiked the blue trail and while it was definitely steep, it was incredibly maintained and in amazing condition. I love that they had a bench with about 1000ft left to hike, right by the springs. Cool off or just sit and refuel, but rarely...More

We have both driven and hiked to the top of Mount Equinox, on clear days the views are awesome. It is a fairly hard hike, but there are nice outlooks along the way. We have only seen a handful of people at the top during...More

Upon entering the auto toll road, you pay the cashier and receive a coin, which you deposit into the gate entry, and away you go. The road is very safe, mostly wooded with a few opportunities for great views. There are a few hairpin turns...More

The entrance fee of $20 for two may seem a little steep but it was worth every cent. The views at the top are truly spectacular. It was a little hazy on the day we visited but it was still wonderful. Not to be missed...More

$15 for one car and $5 for each additional passenger makes this a place to visit if you are bored and have little else to do. Better to pick up a hiking map and hit the trails. Once up on top of the mountain there...More

The views on the way up and then on the summit are absolutely worth the $20 or however much it is to go up! Once at the top there are a couple of trails you can walk on to get to other viewing spots. It...More

The views were high and pretty of the valley below but I would not say stunning and not really worth the $20 toll

We were very lucky to have great weather. There wasn't a cloud in the sky as we drove to the top of Mount Equinox. The view from the top is breath taking. We were able to see several mountain ranges.

It's a long way to the top of Equinox mountain, and since it is a toll road, it's also not cheap -- but it's a beautiful view, and a great way to see the top of Vermont. Take in the St. Bruno center at the...More
