Great 45 cruise to alexandria. Took round trip with dc explorer pass. Different view of city and learned much. Allows for people to stop and shop in Alexandria and come back on different cruise to georgetown if needed. Very relaxing.

You definitely need to call the company. There were not any dogs on board when I cruised.

It is mostly enclosed. You should be fine. Nice way to see some of the monuments.
