Fort Ward is a great place to walk around to view history and take in scenic views. There is a playground for kids and places to cook out.

A great place to visit for a couple of hours. The museum, while small, has exhibits that are well presented. Especially for fans of "Mercy Street" there are some good exhibits on Civil War medicine and hospitals in Alexandria. The fort area is well preserved...More

A great site to walk and explore. Not huge but big enough for a good walk. Offer various recreation activities.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Dressed in historic clothing he explained the artifacts in the museum and described situation and events of the time. An enjoyable visit of the museum and civil war federal fort.

This nice convenient park is a great place to stroll or just relax at one of the numerous picnic tables. The .6 mile, circular, slightly hilly terrain is perfect for walking, jogging or dog walking. Parking is plentiful and the on-site museum is an added...More

I was limited to exercising and thought I would check out Fort Ward Park. I had a wonderful experience, walking through the history that surrounded the park during the Civil War. I was also impressed by the display of Civil War artifacts in the Museum....More
