On the walk to the temple from Kita-Kagome station follow a narrow lane which becomes even narrower along a sidewalk lined with huge trees, some of which are cryptomeria. This temple is famous as hydrangeas Temple its because there are over 50,000 of hydrangeas. You can enjoy many type of hydrangeas. If you are lucky you can also enjoy Irish flowers. I saw many many maple tress. autumnal I would like to visit here to see autumn season to to autumnal tints next time.

This is a fairly known temple with a nice garden, particularly known for hydrangeas and maples. 5-7 min walk from Kitakogane Station on JR Joban Line. I went yesterday,a weekday.The hydrangeas are at their peak.The ones in full sun were slightly past their peak. The irises were completely finished. It is off the beaten track and there weren't many people.I was the only Westerner. I saw the hydrangeas at Hakone today and I prefer Hondoji. There are a lot of maples so it is probably nice... We went in June. Whilst we could see the potential of the place, the plants were not in full bloom, perhaps falling foul to the heavy rain.
