We booked a trip here from the circle shaped Travel Info, on the promenade in Sarande. There wwas only 1 other couple booked on, so we were driven there by a man in a car. The water is beautiful! Well worth jumping in off the platform to feel the full force of it! Incredibly cold! Stay safe!

This is a beautiful lake near Sarande. Just a 30 minute journey by car and well worth it. Only takes 20 mins to have a quick look/walk around as it's small but totally stunning.

Blue Eye is situated about 50 minutes drive from the old town of Gjirokaster. Lots of winding roads for last 20 minutes. Take care and slow down if you are not use to it. Blue Eye is amidst nowhere. The reflection off the river gives an incandescent blue. Worth a visit.

The short work from the car park along crytsal clear streams and through natural unmanicured plants does not prepare you for the treat ahead. On reaching the bridge and then viewing platform you see the natural wonder of the blue eye, a spring I believe at least 6m deep forcing blue clear water up from the ground into the stream

I am so happy we came across this hidden gem in Albania! The photographs do no justice at all! The water really is drinkable we filled up 2 litre bottles which was ice cold! Ideal in 35 plus degrees weather! So my tip is bring an empty water bottle! I would defiantly recommend this beautiful place it has a very... More

We were in Sarande for a day on a cruise and we went to Blue Eye with Sipa tours. The tour guide was really nice and took us to Blue eye in an open top limo! I tried to go swimming in Blue eye but the water is freezing- jumping in is the best way. There was a cafe and... More

It is a very beautiful river you must see if you visit Albania. There is a place to jump to the river, I have to say its a little bit high and water is ice cold even it is July but it is once in a lifetime experience so I strongly recommend to jump to the eye.

My wife and I visited the Blue Eye while on a cruise that stopped for the day in Sarande. This is a must see natural phenomenon of fresh water flowing up from within the earth to form the source of the Bistrice river. Supposedly, at a rate of around 18000 liters per second. When we visited, the surrounding area was... More
