My friend and I went on the 5 day kayaking/hiking in the Amazon tour. It ended up only being the two of us as well as our guides Eriks and Alex. Eriks was an excellent tour guide. Since we had such a small group we were able to go to some places that larger groups aren't able to go on.... More

We went as a group of four, then met another single holiday maker when we arrived. We did the nine day Jatapu kayak trip. We absolutely loved it. If you want a strict itinerary, hot showers and running water, this isn't the trip for you! However, if you want a go-with-the-flow, wild and raw holiday, off out into the wilds... More

If you don't mind getting way off the beaten track, while sleeping, eating, bathing, and traveling like the locals, the 8 day trip up the Jatapu River is a good bet. Don't expect a set itinerary. Plan to be surprised at the friends you make, the glorious landscapes, and the wondrous nature along the way.

Okay, so all I was looking for was a way for my daughter to see the Meeting of the Waters upon return from the Amazon jungle lodge around 5 pm one day and for me to do the same 2 days later. This was somewhat risky because the sun sets around 6:30. Erikes wad available and happy to accommodate, even... More

An awesome experience! We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Price was reasonable and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was great because we didn't go to the usual places that most of the other tours take you. This one took us off the beaten path as we kayaked along the shoreline. Also, what was... More

Our family of 4 - 2 sons aged 19 and 12 plus a cautious husband and wife decided to do an Amazon Mystery tour and were not disappointed. Lots of thrills, adventures and some very scary moments - but definitely the highlight of the 2 week tour of Brazil (and this is includes seeing the Olympic opening ceremony) - which... More

Did the 4 day tour on the Urubu river and loved every second of it. The first day was in collaboration with Ecoforest Adventures and was a blast. The next 3 days were spent on the river and the fun didn't stop. Eddie was a fantastic guide and his crew were friendly, knowledgeable and took great care of us. There... More

I did two days and one night kayaking trip with Amazon Mystery Tours in June 2016 with three friends. We did kayaking along Urubu River. They replied to my query quick and organized the trip with short notice only for us. They came to pick us up on time (which doesn't always happen with all tour operators). We were not... More

If you're into immersive, experiential and off-the-beaten-track travel experiences, I would highly recommend Amazon Mystery Tours. My wife and I included it as part of our Brazilian honeymoon and got what amounted to a private tour with Erikes, a fantastic guide who loves his work. He's knowledgeable, friendly and acts as a steward of the Amazon. Do not come expecting... More

I went on a five-day, four-night kayaking trip on the Urubu River with Amazon Mystery Tours and LOVED it. I think it's key to lower your expectations and go with the adventure, however. You'll be disappointed if you expect it to run like an American tour company, but I found Erikes determined to make sure I had a good experience,... More
