Wonderful old yet well preserved small village just a few kilometers from Diamantina. There is an old now closed textile factory with a small power plant that in the past used to generate all the electric power to Diamantina city and surrounding spots. Definitely a worthwhile visit. Don't miss it.

When you check in at the gate to the State Park that you must drive through to get to Biribiri you will be cautioned against the vandalismo and vagabondos that could trouble you on the 12 km dirt road leading to the abandoned textile mill town. Don't be discouraged but go ahead. The countryside is beautiful and the cachoeiras (waterfalls)... More
