One of the many strees with great shopping

One example of the narrow shop filled streets in Ouro Preto, lined with shops of all types, cafes, and restaurants. On of many streets worth exploring.

It was easy to buy items from the region which were quality items for reasonable prices. The imperial topaz is one item we really appreciate.

This is the town's main street with all the restaurants, bars and stores. It connects some attractions to the main square.

Our Pousada was on this road. It is quite a climb from the bottom to the top but it is interesting, lively and has some decent places to eat. The Solar Opera Cafe being a great place. However, it would be so much better without the belching busses, the noisy lorries and the rattling cars and the boy racers at... More

This street has a lot of shops, restaurants, bars and a couple of pousadas. It is right off of Praca Tirandentes. It is definitely worth exploring, but the city needs to deal with the back up of cars. The street is already small and there are parked cars too.

"Rua Direita" (The Street to the Right), as the locals call it, is a great place for getting souvenirs from Ouro Preto. There is a good variety of shops, all neatly arranged downhill from Tiradentes Square. Some of Ouro Preto's most quaint and conveniently located hotels are there, too, such as the Solar da Ópera and Pousada Clássica hotels. It... More

That's the place to hang around in Ouro Preto. Let yourself wonder up and down the street from Praça Tiradentes.
