This was a great place to break up the trip for our grandkids. There are so many things to learn, and experience. I love the displays that helped us understand the local history about lake Superior, and particularly about the Native American women on display.

Loved the Mary Burns exhibit, and other local information. Beautiful views from the observation deck. My daughter loved watching a monarch being released. Staff was so friendly!

You can spend as much or as little time at the visitor center. There is a video. athere are walking trails, a museum, and an observation tower. There is plenty of seating to just soak up the view. There is also a gift shop.

What a surprise and treat in Ashland! A beautiful building, wonderful walking trails outside, and outstanding exhibits and information inside. Lots of history, geology, Native American details...oh, so much! Gorgeous setting. Fun to go up top for a wonderful view. Worth the stop, and again...More

As others have stated no charge, great places, very nice gift shop and nice trails to hike.
