There is a wide golden sand with a very clean beach and a warm sea. You can catch a boat to visit the coral area about a kilometre from the beach, although we didn't use this activity people appeared to enjoy themselves has the boats had food and drink on offer on the trip. We relaxed on the beach where... More

Tambau Beach is the central beach area of Joao Pessoa. Its wide, sandy and busy. You will find a lot of restaurants, bars shops and hotels along the road parting the beach from the city. The beach is wide and sandy, the water here is pretty shallow close to the waters edge so that children may play without danger. There's... More

My wife, my son and I are spending a week in this beach. It is nice, but it is still with marks of poorly educated people, who throw empty bottles and trash in the sand. During the morning, with the low tide it has plenty of space to walk or run, in the afternoon, with the high tide in certain... More

One of the main urban beaches, it was kind of full of garbage left by tourists, but it's beautiful anyway. There's a few bars with good price. I recomend try to go to the north or south beaches,

Nice place to stay, not that crowded. Clean beach. There's a quite good infrastructure, many options of restaurants, hotels, hostels. Security at night. And cheap coconut water!!! I loved it!

This review will be of more use for historical background, for I lived there all of one summer [Brazilian 'winter' in the 1960s. I have visited the City of Joao Pessoa several times since. Walking south along Tambau Beach going south, one comes to the point, Cabo Branco, which is the easternmost point in the Western Hemisphere, matching a point... More

A bit crowded, though. Great place to meet/watch people. I specially reccomend Quiosque Totoró, on the board walk of Cabo Branco Beach, a few miles ahead of Tambaú Beach.

It's a very nice place to spend the day - lots of alternatives for local food, coconut water and Caipirinhas. The neighborhood is lively, with good restaurants and shops.

We stayed there all day with friends. For a reasonable price, there is food, chairs, shade! The beach is calm with warm waters. Perfect for kids too.
