Get on a boat and go to the other paradise beaches of ilhe grande.
There are lots of places to eat on the beach but they are expensive.
Lots of pollution from all the boats exist. I don't understand the high ratings.
As a town beach this isnt the most attractive on the island. However its a lovely restaurant setting. Several good restaurants line the beach straight on the sand so you can relax at a table or comfy chair and look at the sea.
Nice beach facing many problems. There's lack of infrastructure, mainly regarding sanitary disposal. The huge amount of anchored boats on the water makes it difficult for you to find a place to swim. And their anchora lie on the sandy beach becoming a harzadous situation.
This is the main beach in the port so has all the action going on of boats and trips going in and out. The sea front restaurants have tables on it. The dog life therefore focuses there so near the town wouldn't be my place...More
Dip your toes thats about it. People do swim but....lots of boats and pervasive diesel smell. Nice for a walk with quaint boats and the beachfront bars. Great for people watching. All your paddleboards, kayak, excursions can be had here.
Obviously it is not as nice as Lopes Mendes but Abraao beach is the place to go for a walk in the evening. It is also the starting point for the boat trip around the island and the place to go for taking nice picture...More
