Amazing place in the entrance of the city, every time I see it I wonder why it is so underutilized. This huge building that reminds you of Alpine hotels is mostly empty nowadays and is without doubt a lost opportunity for the city to hold events and many other things. The lake and the gardens in front, as well as... More

I think this is the main atractiong of the city! It is amazing and it is very surprising! This was the first Resort of the world and when it was built it was the biggest cassino in the Americas. It is so huge and so marvelous! In visiting: pay for the guided tour, our you are not going to understand... More

You should do the guided tour and learn how some entrepreneurs decided to build this huge and posh hotel and casino on a record time. They will explain you how this place was full of energy, with people from all over the world with many hollywood artists and celebrities.

This impressive Norman-French style hotel was enjoyed by the elite of the world during the 40’s and 50’s and still stands imposingly by the side of an artificial lake (formed in the shape of Brazil) in the city of Petropolis. No longer a hotel, private condominiums and large public areas make up the interior. Worth a visit to see how... More

Our guide had a deep connection with this hotel since his grandfather would take him there when he was a young boy so we got a really personal tour of the building. The building is maintained for tours but they do hope that casinos will be re-introduced so that the older part can once again shine. It was interesting to... More

The Quitandinha Palace is a beautiful building but it's sad inside that they're not doing much with it. It's become some sort of multi purpose venue without any importance that at least we could see or even according to our guide. Our guide told us that a part of the palace is a hotel but we did not see that.... More
