The Crystal Palace in Petropolis is an attractive feature but there was virtually nothing inside it. It could be used to house beautiful plants. Still good for taking photos though.

It's smaller than I thought it might be, but with a look. It was made in France, brought to Brazil where it was reassembled and presented as a gift from Emperor Pedro II as a gift for his daughter Isabel Princess Imperial. It was used...More

The main reason for stopping here appeared to be to allow passengers on our tour to visit the bathrooms in the area below the glass and steel structure. It was rainy and gloomy - perhaps would look better in sparkling sunshine.

The Brazilian emperor had this modest building constructed for his daughter Isabella. It is filled with windows and mirrors to make a few flowers look like a vastly filled room of flowers.

It is just a open space with a crystal dome..designed for "cultural" acts On our visit was a country fair with "international" food, but was the usual..however the guide recommend us visit it for octoberfest and the beer party

This small but pretty building is attractive from the outside but is used for functions so not much to see really apart from the structure. The inside is just full of chairs stacked up and not much else.

It's a structure. It's not very illuminating, but I can imagine it might be interesting to see if there was an event ongoing.

This is what I would call a pavilion, not a place, built in 1998 it is used for social events. In some ways it made me think of one of the greenhouses in Kew Gardens, London.

Very beautiful but it was super busy when we went. Wish we had more time to admire, even though we went late afternoon.

This is really a nice place to visit. Small, but well kept, it is an intersting historic landmark in the city. Probably too overused with events that fill it with people and destroy the gardens.
