This was one of my favourite things I did during my 1 week stay in Rio. Firstly, to get to this hike, you must go to the beginning of the favela at the end of Leblon Beach (Vidigal Favela). We got a motorbike taxi from the bottom of the favela to the top where the hike begins - must walk... More

My favorite hike in Rio (so far)! The view is simply incredible. The hike is about 2 hours round trip, and there are lots of great views and photo opportunities on the way up as well. When the trail is dry, the steep parts can be very slippery, so while I did pass some people in small sneakers and flimsy... More

We did a 4 hour tour walking up Dois Irmaos with Rio Adventures and our guide Bruno. We were surprised that it was only 2 of us on the trip. It started early but the advantage is you beat the crowds (we only saw a dozen people on the whole trail) and the heat. On the tour we scaled up... More

First you have to start with Moto taxi in Vidigal. Then you will climb for 1 hour in the forest. Remember to take water. At the end you will see really nice view for Ipanema. I was tired but really really happy that I did it. Ate the end its goos also to go back by walk trough Vidigal -... More

The hike was fairly normal at an hour, but it starts off with a thrilling motorcycle ride through the favela. It was an adventure where I thought my knees were going to get ripped off several times. Took the combi down.

expectacular view of the city and a great hiking until the top, better find a guide and its better with a group of people the view from there is out of this world, to get there you have to cross the favela of Vidigal which is another very interesting thing.

Did this mountain 1st...every other mountain after, the views were like "meh". Sugarloaf has nothing on this. The only thing Sugarloaf has on this is that it requires less work. You start off in the Vidigal favela, which is an experience in itself. You can get a motorbike taxi to the proper beginning of the trail, or you can do... More

This should be the number one thing to do in Rio..... I hesitate to write that as making this too popular would perhaps ruin most of what makes this place special, the lack of tourists, litter and noise. This is a rare place of quiet in what feels like one of the busiest. cities in the world. We were staying... More
