Our hotel was facing the beach and as far as the eye could see there were activities going on, volley ball, surfing, sea kiting and everything else. A joy to look at!

This is a beautiful beach with much fewer tourists than downtown. It is quite a drive from the other beaches but worth it for some quiet. The waves are big and the current is strong so beware. Plenty of places to get water, beer, or...More

If you like clear waters and a very relaxing setting this is the place to go to the beach in Rio. Much quieter than Ipanema or Copacabana.

There are definately several much better beaches in the city to visit while you are here, only if you are in the area.

Not famous like Ipanema or Copacabana but Barra Beach so much nicer in many ways. Quieter, cleaner and so much safer. Lots of little beach bars for snacks and drinks.

It's a beautiful large sandy beach where many people relaxed and swam. It was clean and inviting. We were there in February at the end of carnival.
