Prainha Beach is a secluded half-moon-shaped beach, bordered on each side by rocks and high cliffs. It is one of the best surfing spots in Rio, and may be reached by car or by the orange "surf bus" that passes through Copacabana and Ipanema.

Amazing place for surfing and enjoy nature. You have to pick a car or just ride a bike to reach this place. Anyway it is worth it.

Usually a lot of surfers but except from them it´s very calm and relaxed atmosphere and you can hardly believe it´s so close to the city.

Riding along the cost of Rio to get to Prainha is lovely. There are other beaches before and after Prainha, so you can stop at varios points to admire the exuberant views.

For surfers, this is definitely the best beach of Rio, with good waves all year round, except in January, at the height of summer. It is a conservation area, with no buildings around you, only the White Rock Mountains, which make it specially beautiful in...More

The place is a bit secluded, suggest you look for hotels in Barra region as most of those will be able to arrange transportation to and from Prainha.
