Marcio provided us with a great tour of Rio. Despite the low cloud base he took us to Sugar Loaf mountain and Christ the Redeemer hassle free despite the crowds.
He is an excellent driver and a good host, highly recommended.

Visiting Rio de Janeiro has long been a dream of mine. Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf mountain with its cable car, Escadaria de Selaron and Copacabana beach are interesting places. However, Rio is not only that. With this tour, our guide, Marcio, has shown various places that are no less interesting: the beautiful Sao Bento Monastery, Tijuca forest with the Taunay waterfall, beautiful views of Vista Chinesa, Dona Marta and the Santa Teresa neighborhood. Marcio also took us to some distance outside Rio to enjoy views along the beach, the Olympic complex, and .. a surprising aligator nest in the middle of an human settlement. What an unforgettable day with Marcio.

Our experience with Marcio was great.
He took not only to the usual "must see" places, but to see and experience other out of the way sights.
He speaks perfect English and is super accommodating. My wife wanted to buy some local jewelry , at reasonable prices but a reputable place and he took us to the perfect place.
He was always on time and never in a rush.
Highly recommended.

Along with my wife spent three half days with Marcio touring. He was always very prompt and accommodating. My wife suffered a stroke two months ago and Marcio went out of his way to assist. We purchased 12 hours but received more.

Marcio met us at our hotel on time. He is a great guy who is very knowledgeable about Rio and speaks excellent English. Showed us all the sights took us for a great lunch and even went the extra mile by taking us to a shopping mall to buy a football shirt for our granddaughter. Highly recommended

Marcio was very nice and responded promptly to my emails however the tour failed to be more than a drive thru Rio. I had a list of things I wanted to see in Rio which Marcio agreed on prior to our tour. He failed to deliver on Taunay falls and Sugar Loaf Mountain, mainly because he didn't want to wait in line. Instead he drives you thru the city pointing out various landmarks. At one point he stopped the car downtown and told us to get out an take pictures while he waited near the car. He couldn't be bothered to park. He is not a "real" tour guide. One because he fails to display the proper licence plate of a guide, and coaches you thru an elaborate story if the police should pull you over. Second, because there is no commentary, he doesn't have any knowledge of history or the story of Rio, a few facts here and there but much of the time is spent with small talk or silence. If you value a rich commentary of what you're seeing and the history of Rio or Brazil, he's not your guy.The highlight of the tour was Christ the Redeemer which we toured first thing in the morning to avoid the lines. Marcio hates lines and will avoid anything that might require waiting, hence the reason we missed Sugar Loaf. Sadly he parked at the mall which is a 30min walk from sugar loaf mountain,we made the walk back and fourth, he strongly discouraged us from going, saying he would take us the next day. It was only when we were back in the car that he told us we would have to go on our own by taxi. The tour was over by 3, not worth the $250. Overall, he is a nice man trying to make a living but he doesn't have the knowledge of a tour guide and failed to prepare for the tour by buying tickets ahead of time or planning the tour out so that we weren't driving aimlessly thru the city. Save your money.

Well, I've been a Tour Guide for 7 years. This is the first time that somebody says that I have no Knowledge about rio de Janeiro and it's History.......I am an Official Tour Guide in Rio de Janeiro and I always carry my License with me.I had to study to get it from the Braziliann Ministry of Tourism. When we arrived at Sugar Loaf ....it was packed....I just explained to Mr. Sumit that we would waist too much time doing that and he had another day in Rio to do it early in the morning......I think he thought I would take him to Sugar Loaf at the other day.....But I was already busy........otherwise I would take him.....no problem at all.....Well.....I don't know much what to say.....Please, read all the other Reviews about me........

Marcio was GREAT. We had multiple delays but Marcio did not desert us. He met us at the port and adapted to all our requests. His ability to navigate Rio at the height of Carnival was amazing! If you want a knowledgeable and adaptable guide...this is your guy. Thank you Marcio!

Marcio gave us his personal attention for 2 days in Rio and surrounding areas. We learned and saw more than we ever expected. The restaurants he took of to were wonderful. His knowledge of Rio is amazing and answered any and every question we had. His English was perfect too. The 4 of us would highly recommend Marcio 100%!

My partner and I went on a 2 day tour with Marcio. We covered a lot in 2 days which is exactly what we wanted. Marcio asked what we wanted to do and see and we told him, he took us everywhere we wanted. He also added in a few sights which we didn’t have on our list but were just as great. Marcio is very knowledgeable about Rio De Janeiro, he can inform you about almost anything you want to know. He knew the safe places to visit - where not to go at certain places, which made us feel at ease and comfortable. Marcio is good at getting things done very quickly, so if you’ve got a lot to cover then this is great for you! He was very friendly and kind to us always. We can now say we are friends with a local 😁

Marcio was a fantastic host for our two days in Rio. He was extremely easy to communicate with which made planning a suitable itinerary that much simpler. He knew exactly when attractions would be busy and we spent very little time waiting. His knowledge and understanding of Rio and Brazil is fantastic providing great insight into its rich history. He has very fluent English which was tremendously helpful when communicating with locals and speaking throughout our two days. I could not fault Marcio, a natural, friendly and caring tour guide who loves his job.

Hola me parecen muy interesantes los comentarios. Voy para año nuevo con mi familia, somos 4 y no quiero arriesgarme a no encontrar un buen tour por Rio para esa fecha por eso busco hacerlo por anticipado. Pregunto si es segura la contratacion por internet, y si hay algun contacto particualr con el guía o solo por el link de Trip.
