The Rio Botanical gardens are a must see when visiting Rio. Look out for the Cauppuchin and Marmoset monkeys!

Had a walk round the gardens one afternoon and although it was nice the entry ticket seemed expensive for what it was

garden is nice to visit but i didn't had feeling to stay there for long time. Unfortunately many plants and trees are neglected. Maybe July is not the best season but still park was looking a little bit sad. Best are monkeys, they have small and bigger one, which are not at all afraid of people.

For the plant lover, it is a must, for the Orchid lover, it is a feast. For the average visitor it is an oasis in the midst of the bustling city.

The jardim botanic is quite old and full of beautiful trees. Especially the main gallery with the high palm trees is very impressive. We wanted to walk the Atlantic trail, however is was closed unfortunately. But there was more than enough to see and it is great way to spend an hour or two. The Parking has been closed down... I don't know if this Botanical Garden is better or worse than others in the world, but i have to say that i had a wonderful afternoon in this place. The garden is not so big and there isn't much to see, but i loved walking surrounded by the forest.

I really enjoyed the Botanical Gardens. The grounds are well kept and the various plants and waterfalls are absolutely breathtaking. This was one of my favorite sites in Rio and the gift shop has very helpful and friendly staff and real high quality items. Not the crap you see in Copa and Ipanema.

We were not thrilled but perhaps because many things were not blooming as it was winter. We enjoyed the cactus garden but the wait at the cafeteria was way too long to eat.
