Living near this Garden, is a lifetime experience! Everyday there are many new birds singing, lots of fragants flowers and trees around . Always peaceful, never flashy. Zen place to do your Tai-chi, listen to the running waters and take a litlle sun. It is a...More

There really was nothing spectacular to see or do here. Perhaps it is the season, but there are almost no flowers blooming. The rose bushes consisted of one pathetic looking rose bush. The rest were plowed over. The water lilies were the only highlight.

It's really an oasis in a very busy city. The only problem is that the public transportation to that area is very restricted.

It's a nice break from the beach (with shade) and it is pretty - but you can often still see/hear the roads nearby. The orchids were gorgeous though!

We visited the Botanical Garden on a Monday (beware, it only opens at 12:00!) and it was truly worth it!

We came here after one of our friends told us. Not to check it out. We had an extra day so we decided to visit. If you are looking to get away from the city this would be the place.

This botanical garden is a nice walk at hot days. Take the guided tour and then have a snack at La Bicyclette. Take the opportunity to also visit the Museum of the Environment which is next to the entrance of the Botanical Garden.

We spent a half day in this beautiful place. Many different plants and trees to be seen. Also a very good restaurant in the garden. A must see.

The unsung hero of Rio, loosing to its most glamorous brothers Corcovado and Sugar Loaf. Well worth the visit, absolutely stunning. Take insect repellent, allow a day and if you struggle with the heat, you will love being sheltered from it here.

I agree that morning is best as it can get hot. There are picnic tables in the children's park, but those fill up quickly and people leave their stuff there to claim a table. You can't sit on the grass outside of the... More
