We had spent a very exhausting visit in Rio, visiting many beaches and different places. Our last day in Rio, we decided to come here in order to enjoy a peaceful afternoon and to walk and enjoy the view. I just felt a little disappointed to the fact that I couldn't find any monkey during my whole visit! I would... More

Peace and quiet. Green all around. Birds (many kinds). Exotic flowers (of many colors and shapes). Gazebos. Greenhouses. Small ponds. Arbors. Shade. Sounds of running water. Ancient trees. Historical buidings. Lovely scenery (other people not always 'present' in the foreground or background). A day for lovers of nature to enjoy. Less poetically: reasonably safe (guards patrol the grounds) and easy... More

I was informed all the soaps use this area for their end of scene happy ending. I have no interest in gardens but was completely blown away by the magic of this place. The age of trees, the different types and styles. The monkeys can be seen all around so take a banana. A great place to kill an hour... More

I enjoyed the quiet tranquility, but found myself bored. I was expecting more flowers. The next time I visit, I will make sure to bring company. It's perfect for romantic strolls.

I love Botanical gardens and visit them in almost every city I can. This is one of the best. Well laid out with beautiful trees and some species I had never seen before. It's obviously a favourite for the locals so the atmosphere was "peaceful carnival"
