Beautiful beach, relax seating down enjoying a cold coconut water served in the coconut shell. Also close to all sightseeing’s in Rio de Janeiro. Easy ground transportation in and out from the beach.

First off the water is pretty dirty, that aside for a negotiable price you can get a pair of sun beds, some umbrellas and an esky full off beer, then sit back and people watch. Never seen anything like it, super busy but strangely fun.

Nice walk on sidewalk or on the beach. We were there on Sunday when it was very crowed and on Monday when it was not. Enjoyed both times. Sunday afternoon shopping stalls appeared from nowhere. Many little sidewalk eateries with food and drinks, great for...More

I visited Copacabana Beach in March, 2011 when I went to Rio de Janeiro for training at INMETRO. The beach looks great but the water was very cold so I did not bathe in it. I do not know if it gets warmer at other...More

We biked around Ipanema and Copacabana and Copa appears to have been upgraded since last visit here 15 years ago when it was so-so. So much life going on everywhere on the beach. And plenty of bars and snackshops/restaurants along the whole beach. And its...More

The beach is a must-visit. I was pleasantly surprised with how clean it is and how warm the water actually turned out to be (compared to other ocean beaches in Europe). Everyone is very friendly and of course, all the beach traders are quite pushy...More

Nice beach. Especially in the morning. Not very safe. Gangs of youngsters attack in group. Be careful. No jewels or passeports or big money.

The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional
and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood
is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and
traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of
everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs,
chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and
more live side-by-side. There are options for all
price points and tastes. However, the most powerful

Hello! The water is safe from a health perspective, but be aware that the sea is rough, with strong waves and tides. It gets deep abruptly, so you have to be alert. Enjoy also a nice walk on the famous sidewalk, have a... More
