Newer are in town, this beach offers water sports in some spots, like surfing, kitesurfing. It is very beautiful and generally very clean.

A great safe area with beautiful white beaches it is mainly a high class area with closed compounds so mainly intertainement is in the malls. But dont forget to taste the coconuts drink on the beach

The area is not. Get away from the beach and it is a crowded and unappealing city. There is some good shopping, but hard to get to.

Nice beach to get away from Ipanema and Copacabana. About a 15 -20 minute cab from Ipanema depending on traffic. Beaches are cleaner and a lot safer. Lots of shopping and restaurants for all tastes and budgets.
