Lovely view of the Sugarloaf but I'm not sure if you can swim at this beach. There was no one on it and didn't look like your typical beach resort. It is quite scenic though and in a nice quiet location with bars, restaurants and...More

This beach has a fantastic view to the Sugar Loaf hill and is crossed by high-speed avenues. Close to the Gloria marine, the water is inappropriate for bathing. Between the buildings, you can see the Corcovado with Christ. There is a trail for walking, jogging...More

The sea and beach are not clean but there is a lovely view of Sugarloaf. There is also a shopping centre opposite with a nice view from the top floor also. Be careful crossing the road!

The great thing about Botafogo beach is that it is generally less crowded than the more famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. Whereas all the tourists flock to these two, the locals tend to hang out more at Botofogo. There's also a great view of Sugarloaf...More

Nice beach - pity it is not very clean. There are great views to Sugarloaf Mountain. Not at all as busy as Ipanema or Copacabana.

We visited Praia de Botafogo, despite being warned against it by some of the locals. When we got there, it was pretty deserted; Tourist attraction, it definitely isn't (the water is too polluted to actually go in). Which is a pity as the beach itself...More

In recent years, Botafogo has become one of the
hottest neighbourhoods in Rio. It hosts many modern
restaurants with contemporary food and many venues to
listen to rock and electronic music. Its numerous bars
and pubs make this area a great choice for anyone
interested in a great nightlife experience - in fact,
some bars in the area are open all night. Casa Daros,
