Phantom area....out of Carnival

I had one of the best nights of my life in the Sambadrome on the 3rd night of carnival. We were seated in section 10 which is apparently quite close to the judges and so the schools usually perform their "surprise" events around here and stop for a while. I don't think we could've picked a much better spot and... More

We made it! Went to the Samba Parade in a heart of Rio! Didn't book a tickets in advance, but got very lucky to buy it on the street from locals. Sector 5👌 The atmosphere is just festive! It's very impressive how the all country stops to get together and celebrate the Carnival. How huge the effort! If you ever... More

The Carnival parade is unbelievable. Words can never describe what you will experience at the Sambadrome! It is a truly a special event, and it is absolutely imperative you buy tickets on one of the top two nights if you are in Rio during Carnival. There's plenty of energy ALL night, so you shouldn't get tired. I bought seats in... More

Please make sure you get tickets to the Sambodrome and get them in advance for great seats! The most beautiful show in the world! Pictures and videos are nothing. You need to be here! We sat in sector 9 which was perfect! Great view. You are literally so close to the performers and floats. It's great for taking pictures. If... More

Samba Parade We bought expensive “box” tickets and were close to the action and sometimes were brushed by feathers or costumes of the performers. We were at the front of section 2, where the judging commences. We went to the first day of the finals and were treated to the best of the best. Each Samba school takes about an... More

This symbolic place in town in fact loose all of interest if you visit out of the period of Carnival. I was there just the week before and could assist at night time to a parade rehearsal, funny and weird at the same time. Th huge Arc that Oscar Neimeyer in 1984 represent the final glorification of the ceremony of... More

A visit to the carnival stadium was included as part of a city tour and it is great to see where part of the carnival is held. Worth a short photo stop.

We went to Sambodrome Marques de Sapucai by Uber Taxi on sunday January 29th. If you go early (6:30 pm), you'll be seated in the lower number sections (north), but we arrived around 8pm to watch the middle of 3 Ensaios (Samba School "Beija-Flor" winner in 2015) so there were only 4 sections available at that time: 10, 11, 12... The only reason for seeing this is to see where the Carnival procession takes place and to realise that it's a relatively small area for the procession. Still, it gives you a great feel for the place the next time you see it on television. There is a small gift shop and you can buy the official T-shirt for the... More

this is a nice experience to have, if you are lucky and travel in january you can even see the rehearsals for carnival, you can go in and rent a costume and take pictures, it is stunning to see where this amazing carnival takes place, make sure you dont go to near the carnival date as it might be closed...
