Comes alive at night with street vendors and music. We visited with locals and had a fab time. By daytime I wouldn't go alone as it didn't feel as safe as other places

I was fine with the drive-by we did with our private tour guide, but because we had some extra time, my spouse wanted to return and take pics. Originally built as an aqueduct to supply the city of Rio with fresh water from the Carioca...More

These arches are within walking distance from Escadaria Selaron and the Metropolitan Cathedral. There is a spot under the arches with tile designed art similar to the stairs.

Are we talking about the arc or the parties down there? I'd go for the second option more wort it to really see what Brazilian fun is about !! You need to go there on the weekend!

Nice view of the arches in Lapa, but can feel uncomfortable at certain times of the day. Supposed to be a good nightlife scene. But lots of homeless people hang around the area

While Lapa neighborhood is rightly famous in Rio for its nightlife, Arcos da Lapa is just an old disused aqueduct offering nothing to the tourist except many homeless people on location. Not recommended to visit during night for security reasons.

When in Rio de Janeiro, Lapa neighborhood is the right place to go for a nice evening. Great food, plenty of sites to choose from with all types of music and people.

Walking in the streets of Rio de Janeiro I cross the Arcos Da Lapa but it's not really something to see. Some homeless around the place try to ask you money, it's not dangerous but so many better things to do in this city
