It's very nice to go to Botafogo Praia Shopping, on Praia de Botafogo to enjoy its different sorts of restaurants, bars, to go shopping and - most important of all - have an amazing view of Botafogo Beach! But it's not recommended to swim.

Walked and thought we would go along to the bay, and when we got there, was no a sole in site!!!! was polluted. But the area was nice
If you get a chance to be in the area, there are many places to take a photo; this is one of my favorite places to see the bay. We actually bought lunch to go and ate here for our break.

Botafogo Bay is a fine place to walk/cycle and photography for a day. Sadly the beach is polluted. But the Botafogo is still worth a visit.

Very lovely stretch of beach and where the boat dwellers more up. Very picturesque and more of a genuine feel.
Take a good camera with you, as you will be looking at them again and again. Iconic location. Recommended.
Small beach in the Botafogo area with the most beautiful view of the Urca and Sugarloaf. Take off the bus at the Botafogo shopping mall and take a walk. Like anywhere else on beaches in Rio you'll see people playing football, volleyball, jogging, musicians....all that...More
