Neighbourhood: Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

Unless you are looking for a church, you won't notice this wonderful parish. Hidden gem in the midst of the lively Copacabana neighborhood. The church has 2 wonderful side chapels, one has adoration. Beautiful and peaceful place to stop by and pray for a bit and attend mass. They have daily mass and offer Sunday mass in English at 11:30am.

If you pass by it might not attract you immediately but inside it is a place full of spirituality. I was there the 8th of september the day of the birth of Saint Mary. The mass service was wonderfull and the partish is very welcoming. If you pass nearby dont forget to get inside and pray.

If you're visiting the neighborhood of Copacabana, be sure to check out the principal Catholic church there, Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, Even if you're not Catholic, you'll enjoy the combination of traditional and modern architecture inside and outside. The volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable and some speak English. There's also a Mass in English on Sunday mornings (currently 11:30 AM, verify the time),

All tourists are especially welcome at the 11:30am Holy Mass, celebrated in English.
There is also Mass pretty much every other hour at the main altar, but all celebrated in Portuguese.
