It is not only about this place. The entire Old Bagan is a gem. We couldn't see it all, and our guide told us that they are closing temples everyday to preserve them. The sooner you go the better. TIP: Don't take a bicycle, even if you think is a romantic idea. The place is huge, really sandy, and it... More

Dhammayangya Temple is easily the most atmospheric of the temples of Bagan. Try to go at a time when there are no large tourist buses and groups around and you should be rewarded with the temple to yourself. Walking around the corridors with not another person in sight is a eerie and magical experience. If you go to one temple... More

had a great time in this Temple. Looks Magical from a Far and more mystical when you reach it. Got to tour inside the temple and had the chance to talk with a very young boy who's telling us about this temple's history.

One of the landmarks in Bagan's plain, not to be missed. Vendors are gentle, more than the average. Be careful on the sandy road.

The story behind this plus the grandness of the temple will win you over, and there are plenty of spots for you to explore without running into tourists. The high-ceiling halls are amazing as the light seeps through. Don't miss out on this one.

This was the temple I wanted to visit the most for its unique design and it's story. Arrived just after 6 this morning on my rented ebike, so I even beat the locals. Got some great pics during sunrise. Not able to climb or get access to higher levels. Some areas outside were also taped off due to unstable conditions.... More

Every temple has its own story, but this one is a must that you must know. Ask the local or at least Google about the story behind this temple before you go, to have a better understanding and creepy feeling whenever you're inside.

If I am not mistake, the architecture is quite same like Hagia Sophia basilica but different arrangement interior due to religious arrangement. The temple suppose have beautiful painting on wall, but lack of maintenance and vandalism made painting damage. Really love to see and learn history. the temple... More
