A wonderful little quirky railway on a single track. There are several flatbed carriages, with no sides or roof. These are powered by a small engine and each carriage has a driver. Because it is single track, when one comes thw other way, the passengers have to get off and the carriage is dismantled until the other on passes and... More

During our day out with Mr lizy our tuk tuk driver, we went to the bamboo train, and very good value for money, five dollars each return, it's a must if your visiting the area.

I think it was worth to visit....Not that much to see there, but it was really interesting to see how the guys dismantle the "train" and then put it back on rails every 300 metres. Quite bumpy but I really enjoyed it. I heard there were plans to stop this service in 2017 so just double check before you go.... More

We visited this attraction few months ago. It was really nice to experience something like this for the first time - truly an uncommon attraction. The trains are basically a pair of rail wheels with a bamboo plank on top of it. It is run by a diesel-based motor (crank type). The ride is quite fun as it is rocky... More

Travelling along a wonky railway line on an open "carriage" (no seats, just cushions), no walls, no roof), feeling that at any time you might fall off just makes you laugh out loud...that is until you swallow a bug, at that point you just sit with an inane grin on your face for the remainder of the journey. It was... More

But it might be retired soon when they install a proper railroad on the property. Get there early for a less interrupted journey. Very cool.

A bit of fun, there's a small market at the end where the locals will try and get you to buy some drinks or bracelets. Not really worth the money if you're on a tight budget but fun none the less!

Do go for this, it's really quite a thrill and a unique experience! The ride is really scenic too! The bamboo train tracks are only one way, so at some points when another train comes from the opposite direction, one party has to get off but that's cool. At the end, there are some shops where you can buy some... More
