I was really lucky because I got off the bus in Serena in the early hours and there were no people around. I got to see the city in the morning light without crowds or cars and it was beautiful. The Plaza is green and pretty with the pretty fountain in the middle. There was an artesenal market there and the... More

The main square in La Serena is clean, tidy and a nice place to sit on the grass and watch famiies enjoying the sunshine and people juggling. It is nice to go somewhere that there is a bit of grass but nothing special.

Noting special, but a clean and quite square in the middle of the city that is a few blocks away from the main avenue of shops so a bit quiet.

This is a good place to start a stroll of La Serena's shopping district. It is a handsome, well maintained square with a mordenist fountain in its centre and some decent architecture surrounding it. A nice place for a rest or a spot of people watching.

Nicely designed main Square kept very clean even though very popular in the summer months. Nearby are restaurants and cafes as well as Banks, ATM machines and department stores.

The main square in town is where the family action is. There's always something to enjoy in family, from the traditional horses, the small sweats stands, to puppet shows, electric cars, wave rollers and most of the time there's what is called a Feria (Fair) where you'll find the local artisans and artists offering their creations and stands with all... I don't know if it is every day, but I went on a Saturday and there were a bunch of tents there on the perimeter. Most of them sold souvenirs. There was an abundance of tents selling fruit juice and ice cream. Nice to wander around in for an hour or so.

Wandering around La Serena it's hard to avoid the Plaza de Armas. Today we were fortunate enough for good weather for walking and to come on a day where all for sizes were lined with market stalls. We wandered around for a hour looking a local good for sale. Everything from crafts, food, juices, massages, hand crafted chocolates and wine.... More

But nice square. My friend and I were sitting on a bench eating our very tasty chocolate coated fruit minding our own business and then ... The 'weirdness' came firstly from 2 kids begging for money then combing through a bin and taking an empty Coke bottle. Then a lady came up asking what we think was to have my... More

This is a lovely park in the centre of town, unfortunately for us the fountains were off, probably being cleaned for the start of the season
