If you're touring La Serena, start here. The lighthouse is over-rated but all in all it's a pleasant walk with beatiful views and opportunities for street photography. Restaurants and cafes abound.

We did not plan on going this way but I am sure glad that we did! The beaches were beautiful and it was a mainly local crowd so things felt less touristy. Don't get me wrong, it is still a beach and had its fair...More

Wide avenue for touring to the outlying areas. We passed through on a Sunday and there was little traffic at that time.

The Avenue of the Sea is located in the most important tourist sector of La Serena. It begins at the Monumental Lighthouse of La Serena and extends for little more than four kilometers to the neighboring sector of Peñuelas in Coquimbo. There are some delightful...More

The street has everything you need for the beach. It is not to busy at this time of year due to school having started. So it is great.
