We really enjoyed this tour. There were very few people at the pools and you need to be active in order to reach them. They are at 3600 metres and you have to walk down and then climb up about 400 metres. Well worth it swimming in the pure hot water in the springs was a great experience.

beautifully located and maintained, many pools to chose from and not that many people when I visited, definitely to be recommended

Great way to spend the day. do it yourself with a rental car, instead of a tour group which will limit your time. make sure you wear sunscreen!

Lovely development in a lovely site up in the mountains. We weren't planning to go in but the cheap 5,000 peso fare for seniors got us down the entrance road and into the boardwalk. The secluded little veranda we found let us go underwear-dipping and it was lovely. Not sure it's worth 15,000 pesos for the younger soul. Perhaps tours... More

Our original plan was to visit the Laguna Cejar, having some fun in the water after the previous long lasting excursions. But Laguna Cejar was closed because of arsen concentration! What to do? Without having detailed knowledge we went to Puritama. Wow! Entrance fee for adults 15000 Pesos (around 22 USD) - and no students discounts! Ok we decided to... More

We walked with a tour from Guatin to Puritama. It was a wonderful 2 1/2 hour hike. Wear long pants to protect your legs from the rocks and plants, hiking boots, lots of sunblock, a hat and sunglasses. Take a backpack with binoculars, a bathing suit, a towel and water that you will need for the Puritama thermal pools. They... More

A really good but short 2.5 mile mostly uphill canyon hike alongside the Rio Puritama to the Puritama Hot Springs, but you can get there by driving without the hike.

We have really liked the relaxing experience, the different pools with waterfalls, but to be fair, this place is not as unique as advertised, and also quite crowded. What we really did not like is that they charge spa level fees, but do not provide services accordingly - the locker rooms had no locks (you supposed to bring one with... More

We went here on a quite busy day, but it was still one of the best things we did in the atacama desert. There are 8 different pools and the water is nice and clean. It is not a real thermal spa as the water is not as insanely hot as in other thermal spas. It is the perfect temperatue... More

To drive up and just go into the hot pools would be a disservice. The Puritama River Gorge walk is stunning....you need a driver to drop you at the bottom of the gorge and you can walk to the pools. Takes about 2 hours, and you need to be fit!! The air is thin at this altitude, plus there's some... More
