The climb has been made so much easier with coach ride and cable car to take you up to near the peak of the mountain. It took us about two hours after the cable car ride to get to the hotel mainly because the mountain views were just out of this world. It was also with down and up steps... More

The scenery, the engineering of steps on the side of mountains, the number of large hotels built on these peaks are all awe inspiring.

There is a lot of people who come here so everything is all about crowd control. One waits about 1 hour in line to get to the buses. The buses are very well organised and everyone has to be squeezed in without an empty seat. The bus ride is quite a feat across the winding mountains. Then we come to... More

You feel as it you are looking at a painting. A good workout and amazing scenery. Definitely would want good footwear and perhaps spikes if there is snow.

We did have one day to visit the place. We were not lucky because it was foggy that morning. Later the visibility improved, and we could enjoy the scenery more. Lot of steps up and down. You need to be in a fair physical condition to be able to do it. Also, if you have problems with height you do... More

Only got time for 5 stops on a China tour, I would this would be on the list. Stay at the top for one night and walk around. You can do an easy stroller or a high intensity workout. Either way, you'll get amazing views!

Huangshan Mountain (Yellow Mountain) is a designated world heritage park and arguably the most famous mountain in China (before recent challenges from Tibet, Yunnan and other tourist destinations). Besides famous geological explorer's admiration, Chinese people are fascinated by numerous paintings by artists for hundreds of years. I have visited Yellow Mountain several times and made a trip with my wife... More

The Chinese government listed Huangshan #5 in all Chinese attraction behind Forbidden Palace, Great Wall, Summer Palace in Beijing, West Lake in Hangzhou. By shear natural beauty, you have to see it to know why it is on most Chinese people's bucket list, "climb Huangshan". We went with a private guide on a weekday, there was no line. You have... More
