I've done many hikes in my life, and this was one of my most favourite. it was a very challenging hike - 6hrs of ascending and descending mountains. You will definitely need to be fit as it requires lots of leg strength to climb those thousands of steps. The first half of the hike was not as enjoyable due to... More

Words cannot describe the beauty of the natural beauty of the sites. The fog could actually serve to make the sites / view so magically enchanted. Highly recommended for photographers....

We took the funicular down into the canyon and walked up the several thousand stairs. It was 'hard work' but it was worth it. Even though it was raining (a common event in the area), we enjoyed it immensely. The views are stunning with new perspectives opening up after every corner. Take your time to look around and take photos... More

Since we were staying overnight at Xihai hotel, we decided to hike the whole of Xihai West Sea Canyon after dropping our bags off at Xihai hotel. We carried two maps (one in chinese and one in english, printed off the internet), but neither maps was actually according to scale! The whole hike/loop was about 10++km, and it is ALL... More

Good hotel, though we paid for the cheapest room, it is clean and new and small. Food at restaurant was good and taste good. A plus point to our trip up the mountain. Service is good both at lobby when check in and at restaurant.

If you are looking for a nice hike down this canyon then have a good breakfast and rest before going all the way down to go back up. the sight is quite an experience, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy the beauty as well as taking pictures. there is also a way to take the cableway... Gets you closer to the formation and leaves you some time to muse over things. Worth you staying at the Mountain in order to have time to explore this part of the route. Need to do your knee guarding before and after the walk :) However the queue for the ride down was really crowded, and not really value for... More

This Canyon is the most beautiful part of the mountain, in my opinion. Many one-days group travelers would not have the time to visit this Canyon, so it is also less crowded part of the scenic area. We stayed in Xihai hotel, therefore, we went to the Xihai Great Canyon after we loaded off our bags and later in the... More
