Very difficult climb in the heat. Humid and hot. All shaded climbing, but very humid of course. One lovely local farm lady who was 65 made the climb with our family, fanning us at times, and giviing us correct estimations on timelines up the hill. She offered cold drinks at the top of the hill for reasonable prices. After a solid hike we were happy to support her efforts and camaraderie. Fantastic views at the top...just behind the moon. Worth it...but be prepared for the hike. My 6 year old loved it...saw it as a challenge. You can do it!

Excellent hike but be aware there are 820 stairs so people that have a bad knee might want to reconsider the hike. If you do not mind stairs the view is breathtaking...

We did not do the hike due to personal reasons , but can imagine that the views must be amazing just like most of the views from hills in this area. Interesting rock formation next time we will do the hike.

If you are in Yangshou, you already know how beautiful it is, but this easy walk up Moon Hill gives you a totally new perspective. The route to the top has steps but wear shoes with a good grip as it can be a bit steep and slippery in places. There is an entrance fee.

The hike up is tiring but totally doable. We visited in July which was hot and muggy but the stairs that lead to the top are shaded by the bamboos.

A must-see in Yangshuo! Moon Hill is a great half-day trip and an easy climb with steps and handrails the whole way. It was very hot the day we went but also quiet which was nice. The scenery is beautiful from the outlook and there were a few ladies selling ice-cold drinks at the top to thirsty climbers.

A hard climb up a lot of steps on a very hot and humid day. I stopped at the half way point as it began to rain and thunderstorms were likely. My husband continued to the top and enjoyed the view but said you actually get a better view of the hill from lower down. Excellent view of surrounding area too.

A great way to leave the valley and get another perspective. But on a hot humid day it was an unpleasant 600 steps!

we cycled here from the Giggling Tree hotel along the river past the paddy fields, and ate in the small cafe alongside the rock formation. The reason we travel is to discover places like this.
