During the Peony festival you can see the famous national flower, but there are nicer parks to visit during the holiday. During the rest of the year there are family activities and locals sit around, drink tea, play card games, sing and dance.

As it is comparatively hotter this summer, the peony season go faster. When we went to Luoyang, it was a bit late, especially after some rain. Do check the official info on the website, available and updated. Still, we saw a few peony flowers, the black, the pink, the red, the yellow, and most stunningly, the GREEN ones. It is... More

We went twice; in the morning and evening and didn't see anything happening. Guess we were unlucky. As it was autumn, there wasn't much in regard to gardens either, so we were pretty disappointed.

We were lucky to see the flowers in winters grown in glass house as it was grown for some special events in Beijing. the varieties and colors are just fantastic - way more beautiful compare to roses.

Our hotel room overlooked this park, and although we were in Luoyang after the peonies had bloomed, we found the park to be a lively center for local individuals and families of all ages. In the early morning, several groups of people were exercising in classes or by themselves. From Tai Chi to aerobics and whip snapping to jogging, the... More
