I guess if someone had never been to another aviation museum/display this one would seem quite impressive. However, I have been to many aviation museums so this one is average at best when compared to others that I have visited. The lighting in the "early...More

Our family recently visited the Southern Museum of Flight and received a very warm welcome upon our arrival. The museum was quiet that day and one of the educators (Charles) at the museum offered to show us around. His stories were clear and accurate and...More

Having a son who loves flight, this was his favorite place to go. It is also a fun place to take visitors. The price is also extremely reasonable!

Visited while staying a weekend in Birmingham, it is well laid out, and has many aircraft on display. A bit pricy, but the cost of such a unique venue is costly. I know as being a pilot and former aircraft owner that money 'IS' what...More

We went here while in town and were very impressed. From the outside, it looks small but looks can be deceiving. When you walk in, you see just how big it really is. There is an admission but it's well worth it! I'm an aviation...More

We visited this museum just to see historic airplanes and learn of the history of aviation as it relates to this area. It's great in that it's big enough, yet not too big. Enjoyed it thoroughly. There's quite a few aircraft displayed outside 1 or...More

Learned more about Tuskegee airman then any other museums we have traveled to. Nice exhibition on the North Korea who brought the MiG 15 to the Americans. Never had heard the entire story. Nice collection of planes. Have many different flight simulators to test out.

Tons of beautiful vintage aircraft in this building. The staff is also very knowledgeable about everything inside. A play center is available for the little ones along with a flight simulator rooms.

Check BirminghamGroupon. We had a party of 8 and was able to get 8 tickets @ $28.00. It averaged out to $3.50 a ticket. Groupon offered a discount on top of that. So for 8 admission around $25.00 which was a good deal.

That exhibit is the Korean War Jets exhibit. The defecting pilot was Lt. No Kum Sok, know as Ken Rowe when he became an American citizen. Ken is 85 years old now. I talk with him several times a year.
