Rickwood Field is an incredibly old baseball stadium. You will feel like you step back in time. Every May the Birmingham Barons play one of their games there, usually with a theme, and it's a great time to go.

We drove by Rickwood Park to see the oldest baseball park in America that is still standing. They still actually play some games there. It really was a blast from the past and is worth driving out there to see it. I would love to see a game there sometime as I believe they use the old uniforms. The advertisements... More

Rickwood has been a great "experience" for me since I was a kid and my parents took me to see the Barons play. The team has made two great moves since the late eighties, but there's just something so special about seeing that one game they play there every year.

what a lovely old ballpark, nicely maintained, too, if only they could get a few more games played here... stood in centerfield, swore I heard Oscar Charlton telling me to move over, he'd get it...

Rickwood Field is the oldest continuously operated ballpark in America and has been home to some of Baseball's greatest.

I am in mid 59's and had never taken the time to visit. Shame on me!! As you walk around the nostalgia flows. I have been to Wrigley and got the same feeling. Opening in 1908 it is hard to imagine all the great players who have past through. It was first minor league stadium to play night game! The... More

My husband and I went to the 20th Annual Rickwood Classic this year. It is America's oldest ballpark and the Barons were wearing replica uniforms honoring the 1948 team. Darryl Strawberry was on hand to throw out the first pitch and sign autographs. A jazz band entertained us during the game. It was a great day to go out to... More

Looking at the list of famous Major League Baseball as well as historic players who played at this field brought back memories of seeing many of them in the ballgames of my youth. What a wonderful history ball field. A must see for sports fans.

Excellent historic park, the oldest in the country. Small, self-guided tour allows you see the grounds and a wall of old photos of some of the greats who played here early in their career. A neighborhood organization maintains this beautiful park and I'm surprised it doesn't attract more visitors.

Rickwood Classic is a must for any baseball fan! The stands are covered so rain and sun will be minimal. Enjoy! BRING CASH though. Credit cards won't get you in.
