We did not enter the premise. Instead took photos from afar. Sitting between Erhai Lake & Cangsan, with the mountain as the background, sun over the Erhai Lake, the photos turned up very nice. The pagodas are glittering like gold.

I don't get how the admission fee is equal of two nights in a good hotel. Clearly too expensive also for European standard. The place however is beautiful. Not only 3 pagodas but many temples along the hill.

We were taken here as part of our four week conducted tour of China, with Wendy Wu. As these pagodas are THE symbol of Dali, it was a "must see" item on our tour itinerary. I feel these three pagodas are nice, but a bit...More

These three pagodas are behind high walls and you need to pay Yen 115 pr person to get in. That’s way to expensive to get a look at this. We skipped and just had some pictures from outside.

This site has electric vehicles to transport people around the area; this is very positive. The Three Pagodas are based on the Indian style, and early Chinese Buddhist style pagodas. The tallest and first pagoda built is modeled after the Big Goose Pagoda in Xi'an...More

The views from the top temple are lovely and worth a visit. I found the temples nicer than the pagodas themselves but we got a few good pictures. Overall worth a visit and some lovely traditions and stories told to us. We were a bit...More

For the best reflection photos of the pagodas, visit when it is sunny and no wind. It is quite amazing that these pagodas have stood through two large earthquakes when other structures in and around town fell. The two small pagodas are both leaning with...More

The complex of the temples and the 3 pagodas are a must see when in Dali. One can go round in about 2 hours or even more if you are an aficionado of Chinese temples. Lovely views from the top.

This site is very fascinating. We took the electric tram to the very top of the temple and walked down. The monks chant at 7 and 4 in the large temple at the top of the complex. Be sure to stop in each temple on...More

Although expensive this is a really nice place to wander around for half a day. Only the 3 pagodas are original, with the rest of the complex a reconstruction of destroyed temples etc. Like others have said, the best part of this park is the...More
