There used to be bells and interesting statues here, but everything seems to have gone away. The building itself is historic, and the Panthay Revolt is definitely worth learning about.

The museum is free and has virtually noting displayed. It was originally a home of Dali warlord but nothing remains of this period. The main significance is the remaining wall surrounding the museum

This museum houses artifacts of jade, porcelain, bronze, stone tablets, etc, of the Dali and Nanzhou kingdoms. They also showcase the customs and cultures of the Bai community who are the ethnic group here. Quite interesting but only visit if you are in the area...More

This municipal museum has exhibits on various periods of the long and tortuous history of the region. Hardly any explanations are in English however and many rooms are poorly lit.

This shows a lot of Chinese film and it's history including projectors and 16mm cameras, but mainly there is too much propaganda that will bore you at times.

A very local museum with limited English translations. Nonetheless a very good collection of local artifacts from the neolithic to the present. Extensive ceramic collection well presented. Free entry. Closed Mondays.

I think there's a nominal charge of Y10 for entrance, but early in the morning they waved us through. There are attractive courtyards in traditional style, but not much on display, though my wife loved the ceramic figures of warriors, buddhas, and beautiful court ladies...More

I Think the objects the Museum shows are very nice but it is presented in such a boring way and almost no description in English! The room for Calligraphy has nice paintings, but I have seen better museums in China!

The museum itself is small and simple. They have an amazing collection of statues on the top floor. Recommended to visit when in Dalhi.
