We visited after many rainy days so the falls, specially the lower falls, were full and magnificent. The entry to the waterfalls is through a cave with steep stone steps and the walkway around the lower waterfalls are made up of wooden plank so you have to be very careful. The short boat ride was also enjoyable. It is a... More

Not as crowded as I expected, the large area accommodates the crowds and you can still get parts of the walk to yourself and it's possible to take photos without anyone in them. Unbelievable torquoise coloured 'glassy' water. Lots of variety; smaller rapids through to larger water falls and open bodies of water. I felt instantly relaxed and at peace.... More

Plitvice lakes National park is just amazing . As you enter the forest region you are completely out of the world from where you belong to. The mesmerizing chain of 16 lakes takes you all together to a different world. The turquoise color of the lake is what touches you the most. The lower lakes gives you an amazing view compared... We visited Plitvices Lakes in September 2016...perfect weather and beautiful scenery made for a wonderful day here. A bit of a drive from Rovinj but well worth it. There are plenty of accommodations nearby and good restaurants so I wouldvdefinely recommend an overnight.

I went during shoulder season (best way to do it) and later on in the afternoon. We felt like we had the entire park to ourselves. If magic exists, it truly lives here. There were so many waterfalls, I stopped counting. Every turn, every walk, was breathtaking.

We went to Plitvice Lakes on a Sunday in mid-November. Other than two tour groups that passed us, it was empty. We had the whole place to ourselves. It was cloudy but absolutely beautiful. Tip 1: Be proactive in asking questions from Info staff. We only had 3 hours in Plitvice and blazed through lowers in 1.5 hours to try... More

It's an UNESCO site! Walked through the park of about 16 bigger and smaller lakes with 92 cascades and waterfalls. It was very nice like a paradise if you come at the time when there is a sunlight. The walking passageways were nicely laid on top of the lakes and waterfalls, where you are like cruising on the falls but... More

Plitvice Lakes is a not to be missed part of visiting Croatia. Almost did not go because we were staying in Split. However, the day trip was very nice (take a small group tour). The lakes were very crowded the day we went but even the crowds could not detract from the view. Each new lake, each curve opened a... More
