Get transported back to early Christianity. This is a self-guided visit, and the complex offers something for everyone: mosaics, crypts, sea views, bishops' thrones, and a bell-tower with amazing city views. The mosaics in the apse of the basilica alone are stunning.

Seriously ancient building and relics, view from the tower is terrific. Might be a bit crazy at busy times, but if you can get there when it's quiet it's beautiful.

Interesting Basilica to walk around and for once you were able to take photographs and videos of the interior. The highlight of the visit was being able to climb right to the top of the steeple to the room where the bells are located, from here...More

Unless you're a total philistine, this is a must for all visitors to Porec. Having said that, I travelled back to the airport with people who said that they'd walked passed it each day. They didn't have any interest in going inside... This site is...More

Astonishing, 15 centuries of Christianity on one small site. Really exiting. Mosaics are formidable and the view from the tower is memorable.

If there were no mosaics, this place wouldn't be worth spending time on. It's a nice old building but mosaics give it the flavor.

If you go to Porec you have to visit this Basilica. It's free to walk around the main church on Sunday and the whole complex is open for around £5 on every other day. Very worth while.

Really varied tourist attraction. Climb the tower for great views and photos. Look around the museum and the mosaic floors and then go into the church. Really amazing place steeped in history.

We were walking to find dinner and passed this incredible basilica as we heard singing inside. We wandered in as dumb tourists and were overwhelmed by the historic significance of this place being established in the first century after Christ. We were truly humbled.
